TATIANA LEONOR

CELLO FACULTY

Tatiana Leonor began her musical studies at EPABI, where she studied with Miguel Matias and Filipe Quaresma.

She finished her degree at the Superior School of Music and Performing Arts in the class of Professor Jed Barahal and her Master’s Degree in Music Teaching at the University of Aveiro.

Tatiana won the 1st Chamber Music Prize at the Young Musicians Award (2005).

Throughout her academic training, she attended a masterclass with several teachers, including Paulo Gaio Lima, Jian Wang and Xavier Guanepain. In the orchestral sphere, her participation in the APROARTE stage under the direction of Ernest Schell (tutti and head of the section), Young Franco-German Philharmonics in Bayreuth (head of the section) and also International Orkest Historische Muziek at the Superior Conservatory of Brussels under the direction of Sigiswald Kuijken.

Tatiana was a member of the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras and Orquestra Clássica de Espinho. She collaborates with cello chamber music groups and national orchestras as a guest musician.

With cello teaching, string ensemble classes and chamber music as her main focus and interest, she seeks to constantly update her knowledge in these areas by attending workshops, training courses and conferences in Portugal and abroad.

Tatiana has guided Masterclasses and Workshops in some national music schools. She already has several students awarded in national cello competitions.

Tatiana teaches at the Lisbon Academy of Music and the Escola Profissional Metropolitana.
