Edoardo Carpenedo impressed audiences in his American debut with “technical  strength, sweet and singing tone and deep sensitivity.” —Charleston City Paper.  Edoardo has received numerous awards in national and international competitions,  including the prestigious “Trofeo Febo Villani.” He has performed extensively in recital and as a  soloist with orchestras around the United States, Europe (most notably in Italy, Portugal,  Switzerland, and Spain), and Asia, as well as in a violin-piano duo with his sister, Erica. Most recently, in the summer of 2022, he was invited to perform Mozart's Piano Concerto K. 488 with the Orchestra Classica del Veneto (Italy) and the Orquestra Sem Fronteiras (Portugal).

Edoardo’s  latest engagements include performances at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall (New York, NY),  Lincoln Center’s Allen Room (New York, NY), The Greene Space at WNYC & WQXR,  Klavierhaus Recital Hall (New York, NY), The Cabot Theater (Beverly, MA), Tsai Performance  Center (Boston, MA), Harbin Concert Hall (Harbin, China), Qingdao Grand Theater (Qingdao,  China), Ningbo Grand Theater (Ningbo, China), Teatro Comunale Luigi Russolo (Portogruaro,  Italy), Alexander Girardi Hall (Cortina, Italy), and Auditório Municipal do Seixal (Seixal,  Portugal). Edoardo’s latest CD release is “Catalogus Galilei,” published by Music Ensemble Publishing Italia in Winter 2018. This album features chamber works by distinguished Italian  composer Mario Pagotto

Alongside his solo career, Edoardo is an avid chamber musician and entrepreneur. He is  the founder and artistic director of, and pianist for, the musical ensemble Virtuoso Soloists (www.virtuososoloists.com). Virtuoso Soloists has been very active in the Boston and New York  music scene and has completed several tours in Europe, where it has collaborated with  contemporary composers and completed short residencies at local conservatories. Edoardo is also  a founding member of the Bendada Music Festival in Portugal (www.bendadamusicfestival.com), where he serves as vice-director, artist-in-residence, and piano faculty. 

Edoardo began his piano studies with Daniela Vidali in Italy, and he graduated summa cum  laude with honors from the Trieste Conservatory of Music at age eighteen. At a young age, he had  the privilege of studying with Bruno Mezzena, a pupil of Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, and Riccardo Risaliti, professor at the Imola International Piano Academy. Edoardo has attended masterclasses held by Boris Petrushansky, Leonid Margarius, Matti Raekallio, Claudio Martínez Mehner, Emanuel Krasovsky, James Giles, Volodymyr Vynnytsky, Hamish Milne, Alexander Kobrin, Dominic Weber, and José Mendez.

In 2009, Edoardo was awarded a full scholarship by the College of Charleston in South Carolina and was invited to pursue an artist certificate in piano performance under the tutelage of  Enrique Graf. In the last decade, Edoardo’s main inspiration has come from working with concert pianists Jeffrey Swann and Pavel Nersessian. Edoardo earned his Master of Music in solo piano performance at New York University under the mentorship of Dr. Swann, and his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree at Boston University studying with Professor Nersessian. 

Edoardo is a passionate teacher. He has served as an adjunct piano faculty member at NYU Steinhardt, and as a teaching assistant for both the piano and the composition and music theory departments at Boston University College of Fine Arts.
