VIOLIN FACULTY

Ana Rita Gonçalves began her musical studies at the Santa Cecília Music Academy, where she was a student of Professor Vasco Brôco. She holds a degree in Violin from the Lisbon School of Music, where she studied with Professor António Anjos.

She has participated in several masterclasses with teachers such as Jiri Tomacek, Gerardo Ribeiro, Boris Kuniev, Alexander Trostiansky, and Ulf Hoelscher. She was a member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra from 1999 to 2006, serving as assistant concertmaster. As a freelance instrumentalist, she has performed with the Gulbenkian Orchestra, Orquestra do Norte, Lisbon Film Orchestra, Quarteto São Roque, and various ensembles in both classical and light music contexts. Since 2024, she has regularly collaborated as an orchestral musician and production coordinator in the cultural partnership project between Associação 3 Atos and the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art.

Always seeking to engage with innovative pedagogical approaches through continuous training, she acquired an important part of her teaching education with Professor Betty Haag in Chicago (USA, 2005), as well as with Professors Alf Richard Kraggerud, Sygin Fossnes, and Grete Rasmussen at the Barratt Due Institute in Norway (2014–2016).

Ana Rita Gonçalves taught in the project “Flauta Mágica” (music for babies) from 2017 to 2022, contributing to the development of original pedagogical and musical resources in this field. She is a Violin and Ensemble Class teacher at the Lisbon Music Academy (since 2005) and at the Associação Musical Amigos das Crianças (since 2025), and has guided several students who have received awards in national and international competitions held in Portugal.
